Simon Bainbridge

Qualifying from Newcastle University in 1999, obtaining Membership of the United Kingdom College in 2006 and the Australian and New Zealand College in 2010, I have extensive clinical experience both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

From 2006 to 2013 I worked as a consultant psychiatrist at a Community Mental Health Centre in Counties Manukau District Health Board. In 2013 I joined Auckland District Healthboard, initially as an inpatient psychiatrist for 3 years and currently as a Community Psychiatrist based in Ponsonby. This job mix provides me with extensive experience in dealing with mental health problems that occur in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

I also hold an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer position with the University of Auckland.

As a psychiatrist I am interested in adult ADHD, depression, anxiety and alcohol use disorders.

My training both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand has provided me with the comfort and expertise to work in a truly biopsychosocial manner and when discussing management options, I believe I can offer choice and flexibility to work with you and achieve the best outcome.
